Ben Hur Open Regatta

NOR - 2000 Ben Hur Open Regatta, Toronto, Ontario
DATE: September 30, October 1

Etobicoke Yacht Club

ORCA Open event, Hosted by Fleet 183

*** Rave hydrofoils are welcomed and loved at this event.

Take a step across the Line of Death. Race or die at the Ben Hur Open.
Winner takes the coveted Kaddafi cup. Leave behind all notions of
civilization and polite society. The laws of Canada and common sense are
not applicable. This is a hull-borne homicide, watery wickedness, and
peril galore. Kiss transom, sucker. This is a savage apocalypse, a brutal
Darwinian selection of the King of the Cats. The watery arena of speed
awaits.

RULES
1. All boats must have at two or three hulls, at least at the start
2. No large calibre handguns
3. No flaming arrows
4. No sissles

"Speed provides the only one genuinely modern pleasure"
- Aldous Huxley

Oh yes, and we are doing decorate the boat, decorate yourself, this event
is to have fun! Sail on costumes, party in costumes, bring spears, swords (single and double edged), daggers, sling shots, torpedoes, the theme is warriors.
Silly, we must be silly….

Dinner and party at the main clubhouse Saturday evening. Bring your dancing shoes.

In the event that the weather is too bad to race, we will do a 2 day
party, or as long as we can last! WARNING: Arja and Karen-Ann are making that famous rum punch…
