Fleet 183 GEP news

The NAHCA Guest Expert Program goes to Toronto!

On Friday June 22nd, 2001 Dan Kulkoski will once again share his experience and wisdom with his fellow sailors as part of the NAHCA Guest Expert program.

The event is being held at the Etobicoke Yacht Club on the northwestern shores of Lake Ontario. Fleet 183’s 2-day Flying High Regatta, the most popular catamaran event in the Canadian East, will follow on June 23 & 24. Fleet 183 has long been the stronghold of Hobie sailing in Eastern Canada, and has Hobie 14s, 16s, 17s, 18s, and 20s in its fleet.

Dan is a top-notch Hobie sailor, having competed very successfully in Hobie 17s (Second in the Worlds, Jan 1999 in Australia, and Continental Champion July 2000, Long Island NY), and also in the Hobie 20 and Hobie 16 classes.

Having such deep experience at the top levels of racing, Dan can show participants in several classes how to set up their boats, sail them faster, and handle challenging tactical situations. He will help them on the beach, on the water, and on the chalk board. The conversations will go into the evening.

Interested catamaran sailors will be welcome at the EYC, and should note that there will be another training event on June 17th as part of the Fleet's Introduction to Hobie Sailing Day. Morten Fogh will lead that training session.
