Held at Turkey Point on Lake Erie (near Long Point), with beautiful beaches
and nice clean, warm water.
From George Anger, Turkey Point Catamarans
Point is NO MORE. Sorry. We all had fun putting it on, but the Provincial
Park and the T.P. Property Owners won't allow boats on the beach over
night. Without the group sailing together, there won't be anyone here to
put the Regatta on. There are some other excellent regattas around southern
Ontario and upper New York State. We went to Canandagua for their Peachtree
Regatta. It was great. The people wanted catamarans to come. Very different
from Turkey Point's attitude.
If you decide to come to one of the best sailing locations in southern
Ontario, here are some directions to Turkey Point. From Brantford , go
south on Highway 24 to Simcoe, then continue south on 24 about 15 km to
Regional Road 10 turn south (left) and straight to the beach. There turn
right, for 1 km turn left to the beach and right along the beach 1 km to
the fleet.
From Hamilton , go south on Highway 6 through Caledonia and Hagersville to
Jarvis. Turn west (right) on Highway 3 to Simcoe, where you turn south
(left) on Highway 24. Now to RR 10 and Turkey Point.
